This blog of mine is slightly different than the rest of the blogs.
As I have thought to share some first aid information.
First aid refers to the emergency or immediate care you should provide when a person is injured or ill until full medical treatment is available. For minor conditions, first aid care may be enough. For serious problems, first aid care should be continued until more advanced care becomes available.
FRACTURES
IMMOBILISE it with a well padded stiff support reaching the joints on either side. Apply bandages on either side of the site and at the joints on either side support.
RESPIRATION
If it is failing, give artificial respiration- mouth to mouth or mouth to nose.
NOSE BLEEDING
Sit him of facing the breeze and the head slightly forward. ask him to breath through the mouth and not to blow the nose. Apply a cold compress over the nose. The soft part of the nose maybe pinched close with the finger for 10 minutes. Cold application on the back of the neck and forehead may help.
BEE STING
Do not press the bag (of the sting)
use foreceps and remove the sting. Apply cold or weak ammonia.
BURNS
Flush the burned area with cool running water for several minutes. Do not use ice.
Apply a light gauze bandage.Do not apply ointments, butter, or oily remedies to the burn.
SHAKE BITES
Keep patient calm. Wash with plenty of water and do not rub hard. First apply a constructive bandage on the heart side of the bite. do not incise or attempt to suck the wound. Get aid quickly. Try to identify the snake.
BLEEDING
Arrest the bleeding and protect the ground. Apply director indirect pressure. Cover with a dressing. Apply a pad or firm bandage. keep at rest.
FAINTING
Lay them down and loosen the clothing around chest and waist. Turn head to one side. The legs may be raise a little.
Do not attempt to give any solid or liquid.
On recovery a small quantity of a drink may be given and allowed to sit up and move after rest.
EYE INJURIES
Cover both eyes with sterile dressings or eye cups to immobilize.
Covering both eyes will minimize the movement of the injured eye.
DO NOT rub or apply pressure, ice, or raw meat to the injured eye.
If the injury is a black eye, you may apply ice to cheek and area around eye, but not directly on the eyeball itself.
As well as knowing some basic first aid techniques, it is important that households and workplaces have a first aid kit that meets their needs and is well organised, fully stocked and readily available at all times.
STAY FIT AND HEALTHY. TAKE CARE OF YOURSELF.
